🛑CETAG TO RESUME WORK ON...
The leadership of TTAG, led by Honourable Jephtha Nana Kwame, has today released a statement addressing the strike action taken by the Colleges of Education Teachers Association (CETAG).
According to the TTAG letter dated August 2,2023, the leadership is pleading with the government through the Director General of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) to engage all relevant stakeholders and intervene on behalf of CETAG.
They implore the government to honor the reliefs specified in the National Labour Commission (NLC) and Fare Wages and Salary Commission ( FWSC) Arbitrary Awards Orders signed on 2nd May, 2023.
TTAG also points out that the strike action 'will have significant ramifications on the academic performance of Teacher Trainees'.
For that matter, they appeal to the government to urgently fulfill the 'negotiated' reliefs and hence find amicable resolution with CETAG.
Notwithstanding, the leadership of TTAG call on all Teacher Trainees to remain steadfast and prioritize safety as they work diligently to safeguard the interest of all.
"Should the government expedite action in fulfilling the negotiated conditions of service concerning CETAG, the STRIKE ACTION COULD BE CALLED OFF" - Teacher Trainee.
