GOOD NEWS: 🔴CETAG Strike Continues Until This Is Done

Image
✍Sir_OJ  CETAG Strike Continues: KEY DEMAND TO BE RESOLVED SOON The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) strike continues. The primary demand is the migration of college tutors to the rank of university assistant lecturers.  Initially receiving salaries akin to training colleges, tutors now seek recognition reflecting the upgrade to colleges of education. Currently, 98% of tutors qualify for this migration. Despite government efforts to address various issues, CETAG remains firm. In a council meeting held today, Saturday, August 3, 2024, CETAG members unanimously agreed that the strike will only end once the migration is fully implemented and all due salaries are paid.  This stance underscores their frustration and the importance of professional recognition. Resolving this strike is critical for the future of education in Ghana.  Students in the various Colleges of Education can finally be optimistic that the strike will be called of in t...

CONFIRMED 🔴: CETAG STRIKE CALLED OFF ❓❗?

✍Sir_OJ CETAG Strike to End: Academic Activities to Resume in Colleges of Education After nearly two months of halted academic activities, the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) has announced plans to call off its strike on Monday, 29th July 2024. This decision follows a successful agreement with the government regarding the conditions of service for CETAG members. The memorandum of understanding (MOU) was officially signed, marking the end of a dispute that saw CETAG withdraw all services on Wednesday, 24th July 2024.  This drastic action was a direct response to the education minister's directive to withhold their July salaries, a move that prompted immediate cessation of academic activities across Colleges of Education nationwide. The cessation of services significantly impacted academic activities, particularly affecting final-year students who have been eagerly awaiting the resumption of their studies to complete their programs. With the strike's e...

KOMENCO LEVEL 400 SHARES HIS STORY 🥰

Image
✍SIR_OJ  As a level 400 student, renting my own room in Komenda town for the second semester was a brand new experience for me. After spending the past few years living on campus, the idea of living independently was both exciting and a little daunting. I was not alone in this transition, as my colleagues had also rented rooms in Komenda town to be closer to campus. Others, for their own ulterior motive, preferred distant areas.  When I first arrived in Komenda to search for a room, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I walked up and down the streets, speaking to landlords and inspecting different properties, alongside my peers who were doing the same. It was a bit overwhelming at first, trying to find the right balance between affordability and quality. But I was determined to find a place that would suit my needs. Adding to the logistical challenge, my belongings were still at the location where I had completed my internship the previous semester. I had to coordinate the tra...
