End of CETAG Strike: Agreement Reached 


There is optimism that the CETAG strike, which has lasted seven weeks, could end tomorrow. The government and CETAG have reached an agreement, with the government promising to pay CETAG members' July and August salaries by the end of the month.

The strike, driven by demands for better conditions of service and an upgrade of Colleges of Education to university status, has impacted academic activities. 




If the strike is officially called off, students should prepare to return to campus as the second semester is set to begin soon.

UPDATE🔴: NLC ATTACKS CETAG ⚠️🔴

✍SIR_OJ  The National Labour Commission (NLC) has barred the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) from participating in its meetings until they call off their ongoing strike. The Executive Secretary of the NLC, Ofosu Asamoah, stated that the Commission will not entertain any concerns raised by CETAG leadership as long as the strike continues. The NLC has also taken legal action to obtain a court injunction against the CETAG strike. The Director of Human Resource at the Commission, Dr. Bernice Welbeck, emphasized that they will not listen to CETAG's representatives until the strike is called off. The Chief Executive Officer of the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, Ben Arthur, has urged CETAG's leadership to end the strike and engage in dialogue with the government.
