The leadership of the Colleges of Education Teachers Association, CETAG, has on Tuesday, 5th September, 2023 suspended its strike action.

The over a month-long strike was necessitated by the government's unwillingness to fulfil the agreed Arbitrary Awards with CETAG.

Amidst the strike action, the leadership of TTAG raised concerns that the unresolved issues could disrupt future academic activities.

Hon. Yaw Osei Adutwum- Minister of Education

In addition to that, the Minister of Education, Hon. Yaw Adutwum directed the Controller and Accountant General to suspend the August salaries of CETAG members.

That development compelled CETAG to reconsider their decision by voting.

"On the basis of the voting outcome above, the strike has been suspended on a majority decision with effect from Tuesday 5th September 2023".

Hence, all members are expected to RESUME WORK LATEST BY THURSDAY 7TH SEPTEMBER 2023", the association added.

However, CETAG has made it clear that it shall advice itself if by 30th October, 2023, all the outstanding Arbitrary Awards have not been implemented by the Minister of Education.
