Many students feel uneasy with the idea of having to sit for an examination. If this feeling is not controlled, it can affect their performance in the examination. 

In this article, let me prepare your mind and body to face your examination with composure. 


3 SIGNS OF EXAMINATION STRESS AND ANXIETY 

1. MENTAL DISTRACTION 

In preparing for an examination,  there are times when you will find it difficult to concentrate on what you are revising. Your attention is quickly diverted from what you are reading to other things or you are distracted by the least noise. 



2. RESTLESSNESS 

There are times too when you cannot sit down quietly  to study. You become restless. You touch everything around you:that is, you fidget. You move from topic to topic and  from one subject to another. You may even have headaches. 


3. MENTAL BLOCK 

The worst stage of examination stress is what we call the mental blockage. At this stage, you may not be able to think well about anything. You may read a whole chapter without making any sense out of it. It is not that the material is difficult.  Your mind is simply blocked.
